Every language learner who uses online resources probably knows those YouTube videos, beginning with «Don’t say ….». Are those kinds of videos beneficial? In my opinion, not really. Instead, the opposite is the case.
In most cases, using this kind of sentence or word is not wrong or false. Of course, knowing other possibilities to express yourself in a conversation is helpful. But if you suddenly no longer dare to say something because of such videos, that doesn’t help a learner.
Use these kinds of sentences and continue having conversations. Gain confidence in discussions with others; over time, the variety of languages will automatically become more diverse and better. But if you stop talking, you won’t get anywhere.
