Light Pollution

When we hear the word pollution, several things come to mind. Plastic in the oceans, industrial chimneys with black smoke, car exhaust and so on. But who thinks of light pollution when they hear this word?

Too much at night, too little during the day. Light in the wrong place at the wrong time disrupts the sleep rhythm and can even lead to consequences similar to jet lag. But nature also suffers. Plant growth will be affected and in the vicinity of street lamps, the leaves may be shed with a delay in autumn. Insects in urban areas are dying and, therefore, the food chain for other animals is disrupted.

Wer braucht so etwas? Klassisches Beispiel wie es nicht sein sollte.
