The first Friday in August is international beer day. Another strange holiday, but what is the reason for this day? Definitely not the German beer: They celebrate the «Tag des Deutschen Bieres» on the 23rd April, and this beer usually gives no cause for celebration in my opinion. But there are also exceptions, where not only the etiquette is exceptional. You can often enjoy a good beer at local breweries.
The (official) goals of this holiday are:
– Meeting up with friends to have a beer together.
– To honour the beer brewers, breweries and pubs of this world.
– Celebrating beer from around the world together creates a globally connecting moment.
Put simply, it’s probably more of a reason to meet up and get drunk. Cheers!
