Misleading food name

Changes to the declaration requirements for food names are finally causing misleading information on vegan products to disappear. Until now, some retailers had 100% vegan chicken breast or 100% vegan beef burgers in the range of good. But how can chicken be vegan?

New regulations prohibit the use of information which are not included in the product. If the name beef is on the product, there needs to be beef in the product. Why does a vegan want to eat chicken breast? That doesn’t make sense unless you want to mislead consumers. And everyone who has ever eaten a mock chicken breast knows that it neither tastes nor feels that way. It’s just something undefined with a strange consistency.
